A impatient review of the LG minibeam PH550G projector.
A Inspect OF THE PH550G MINIBEAM -4TH JULY 2016.
Compared with the LG LED Smart Projector PF85U that I reviewed last year, the PW800 is a lesser, but arguably more interesting, model. The LG PF85U offers 1080p resolution rather than 720p, it"s brighter than the PW800, and it adds built-in smart TV functions. On the other hand, it"s bigger and heavier than the PW800, making it far less portable. This is, in short, a case where less is more—at least if you want an HDTV you can bring along whenever and to wherever you like.
The LG PW700 Bluetooth MiniBeam projector includes screen sharing options such as WiDi, Miracast and HDMI to stream content from laptops, smartphones and more. Connectivity ports on the LG Bluetooth MiniBeam projector include one each of USB, HDMI (MHL), RGB, Headphones, Component (thru RGB), and AV ports.
Basically a portable HDTV that uses a projector for its display, the LG Compact Pebble Design Smart Minibeam Projector PW800 offers the usual HDMI and VGA ports, plus easy wireless connection to mobile devices.
For customers who prioritize picture clarity, the new PW1500 is able to render images at an astounding 1,500 lumens, the brightest in the entire LG Minibeam series. Perfect for everything from slide show presentations to theater-quality movie viewing, the PW1500 is the ideal projector for viewers who consume a wide range of content. The PW1000 with 1,000 lumens offers all the great features of the Minibeam PW1500 at a more competitive price.
The portable Bluetooth projector measures in at 172x117x40mm and weighs 580 grams.
From LG LG Electronics (LG) has announced plans to expand upon its acclaimed Minibeam series of projectors at CES 2016. Debuting next month at CES, the three latest projectors in the LG Minibeam series (models PH550, PW1000, PW1500) feature both Bluetooth and Wi-Fi connectivity for unparalleled freedom and viewing convenience. Improving on the one-hand grip design of previous Minibeam projectors, LG"s 2016 models have also been slimmed down even further for easier portability. "With more variety than ever before, LG Minibeam projectors offer enhanced portability with wireless connectivity for an enjoyable viewing experience anytime, anywhere. We look forward to officially unveiling the newest LG Minibeam series at CES 2016," said Brian Kwon, President and CEO at LG"s Home Entertainment Company. The all-new compact PH550 eliminates the need for all wires thanks to its triple wire-free connectivity. This feature provides users with the ability to send content from their smartphone or tablet to the projector using the Wi-Fi mirroring-enabled Screen Share. Users can also connect to speakers wirelessly via Bluetooth and unplug from the wall for 2.5 hours of viewing using the rechargeable internal battery. These features offer consumers a new level of connectivity and freedom. What"s more, despite its small size, the PH550 is the brightest among LG"s battery-powered projectors at 550 lumens. For consumers looking to achieve the best in picture quality, the new PW1500 is able to render images at an astounding 1,500 lumens, the brightest in the entire LG Minibeam series. Perfect for everything from slide-show presentations to theater-quality movie viewing, the PW1500 is the ideal projector for viewers who consume a wide range of content. Additionally, the PW1000 with 1,000 lumens offers all the great features of the Minibeam PW1500 at a more competitive price. Another key model in LG"s projector lineup is the Ultra Short Throw LED Home Theater Projector (model PF1000U). Honored with a CES 2016 Innovation Award, the versatile PF1000U delivers high-definition picture quality with 1920 x 1080 resolution and brightness up to 1,000 lumens for clear visibility, sharp contrast and rich blacks, even in viewing environments with abundant ambient light. Featuring Ultra Short Throw (UST) Technology, the PF1000U is able to project a screen of up to 100 inches when placed only 15 inches from a wall or screen. Viewers no longer need to worry about installation or walking in front of the projection beam. The PF1000U is the world"s first UST projector to weigh less than 4.85 pounds. Even with its Full HD resolution and 1,000-lumen brightness, the PF1000U consumes roughly a third of the power of competing units. For consumers, this projector offers the utmost convenience while providing unparalleled picture quality, similar to many TVs. LG"s new 2016 Minibeam models are planned for introduction in the United States and key European markets in the first quarter of 2016. LG"s award-winning Ultra Short Throw LED Home Theater Projector (model PF1000U) is available now at U.S. retailers.

The LG Minibeam PH300 is a powerful little projector for the traveling executive.
If you find yourself giving presentations while on the road often, the LG Minibeam PH300 ($449, £290, AU$603) may be worth looking into. Competing in the same space as other small projectors such as the $400 (£270, AU$530) ZTE SPro and the $599 (£385.24, AU$738.45) Epson EX7235 Pro , the compact LG PH300 packs a capable number of ports, a decent LED lamp, and a built-in battery rated for up to 2.5 hours on a single charge.
The LG Minibeam PH300 is an LED pico pocket projector, bright enough at 300 lumens and for presentations on the go or for gaming and home entertainment too.
The PH300 is a very small, light weight pico (that LG calls Nano) projector that packs a lot of features into very little space. Pico and Pocket projectors seem to be growing in size. Typically we have considered projectors under 1 pound to be “picos” but that included any external power brick. The “Mini” weighs in at .95 pounds but the brick adds about an extra half pound. Still it’s ultimately portable! This model includes a built-in rechargeable battery that LG claims can be used to power the projector for up to 2.5 hours (in the lowest power Eco mode, but less time in the brighter modes). That’s plenty of time for most movies, or a business presentation.
At next month's Consumer Electronics Show, LG will officially unveil three new additions to its Minibeam series of DLP projectors--the PH550, PW1000, and PW1500--all of which boast an even smaller form factor than previous models and include Bluetooth and Wi-Fi.
Multiple Connectivity Options Apart from the standard HDMI connectivity, you can use a USB device to project your files. The LG PW1500 Minibeam LED Projector also offers connectivity via WiDi to mirror your Android-powered tablet and smartphone directly. Connect the cable line to use its built-in TV Tuner for streaming channels directly on your screen. You can get a surround sound experience by connecting to your sound system wirelessly using Bluetooth audio technology.
