Initially introduced in 1959, the Cornwall speaker was designed to serve as a larger, full-range alternative to the Heresy when used as a center channel speaker between two widely spaced Klipschorns. When it was discontinued in 1990, there was an outcry from consumers resulting in a letter-writing campaign and even a petition to bring back this storied loudspeaker.

I am curious why there seems to be so little interest in these or other Klipsch speakers on this forum.I recently purchased a pair of 1984 Cornwalls in very good condition that sound incredible and after listening to many other speakers like Magnepan,Paradigm and Vandersteen i feel that the Klipsch has a lot to offer.I did notice that placement is more critical with these Cornwalls than with other speakers i have owned but once they are in a sweet spot they sound course this is all just my opinion but for a very realistic listening experience i find these are a very good are

Hello all! Just came across these on Ebay, and they
Conrwalls are NOT the best Rock and Roll speakers I have ever owned--Tannoys are LIGHT YEARS ahead of the Klipsch in that dept (and that's why my Monitor Golds are in my WIFE'S SYSTEM--she likes rock and hip hop). In fact, I think Cornwalls are pretty LOUSY rock and roll speakers! But for jazz? The best I've ever owned . . . .

Klipsch introduced the Cornwall in 1959 as a larger alternative to their best-selling Heresy series. A pioneer of the center channel, the Cornwall was designed to augment their best-selling Klipschorn speakers in very large rooms. Brought back in 1990 after a letter-writing campaign, the popular Cornwall III is also a highly versatile speaker in its own right -- prefiguring the development of classic floorstanding designs.
So, there you have it, the Cornscala. I have all the parts to build these except the midrange horns. For those, you would have to find a used pair of Klipsch Metal K-400 horns or buy from Klipsch a pair of new composite K-401 horns. You can perhaps find a rough set of Lascalas to use to get most of the parts, or a set of Cornwall 1s. Cornwall 1s would have all the parts except the crossovers and midrange horns. Lascalas would have all the parts except the crossovers.
