Acer has recently added a new gaming monitor to its product lineup, the GN246HL . The monitor is using an LED panel, this new 24-inch LED-backlight monitor supports a native resolution of 1920 x 1080.
I"ve seen multiple threads on a similar topic, but none had a solution I was looking for. Just the other day I got my Acer GN246HL monitor , capable of 144hz. However, it"s stuck on 60hz max. When I try to change it in Windows Settings, it doesn"t give me any options over 60hz. I"m using the dual link DVI cable that came with the monitor. I tried using AMD Radeon settings and setting a custom 144hz resolution, but it said that it wasn"t compatible with my monitor. It"s maximum reported refresh rate is 75 hz. I have an overclocked AMD Radeon HD 8570 and wondering if that"s where the problem is coming from. Thank you in advance.
I recollect it s off topic for Ride Legend, but I just upgraded my monitor and had to share this with everyone. The difference between 60Hz and 144Hz is so great that.

A good gaming monitor is just as important to a smooth gaming experience as your GPU. Thus began our secret quest to find the best gaming monitor in 2017.

All of these monitors have poor contrast and black levels, which is an inherent flaw to TN and IPS technologies. In this regard they"d look like crap compared to your previous CRT. The upcoming Acer Predator Z35 (35" 2560 x 1080, 144 Hz out of the box and up to 200 Hz when overclock mode is enabled) uses an MVA panel which provides much better blacks and contrast than TN and IPS (contrast will be at least 2x as good), and I guess we"ll see just how low input lag is when TFTCentral reviews it. TFTCentral will upload a review of a 144 Hz BenQ monitor that uses the same panel in the near future.

As is expected with the heavy emphasis on gaming, ASUS has chosen a regular TN-panel. The best thing about this is the very fast response time of only 1 millisecond. ASUS specifically targets this monitor to console gamers, so this is a major difference when comparing it to most television sets, which generally have an input lag of greater than 15ms. ASUS has also used their own proprietary technology to further improve the input lag.
No matter which gaming monitor model is being talked about, they all begin with their picture quality and display features. This specific model, from Acer, has a native resolution of 1920 x 1080p (which is full HD) on a 24-inch screen. Whether it is being viewed from far away or a close distance, the resolution is fantastic . In addition to the fantastic resolution, is the extremely high contrast ratio of 100 million to one. This offers the brightest whites and the darkest blacks.
